Tri-Peachtree City Triathlon Club

Tri-PTC was founded in 2003 to give area triathletes a source of support, information, training, and racing for the southside of Atlanta. We encourage all athletes, not just triathletes, to look at our club and see what we have to offer. We are active in the community not just with donations of money but we also encourage our members to volunteer.

Anyone else do the TriColumbusGA sprint today at Callaway Gardens? I saw at least one tri-PTC jersey out there and I'm sure there were more. Great day for a race, the lake was a great swim. ... See MoreSee Less

Please pray for Jessica and her unborn son, Mason. She is the daughter of team member Kevin Lenze.

My daughter Jessica went into premature labor ten days ago and unfortunately there are serious complications to the baby (Mason).

I know TRI-PTC and MSP is full of prayer warriors so I'm reaching out. I've attached Jessica's email from last week and please feel free to forward.

Thank you,

Kevin Lenze

Hello All,

I wanted to give you an update. Feel free to forward to people who are praying for us. I know everyone is hurting and wants to know what's going on.

We were able to stop my contractions which was the first of many battles and good news. We will take what we can get.

I have an ultrasound today at 3:30. The perinatal specialist is very confident that Mason has a major hernia in his diaphram, which has caused his liver to move up into his chest cavity and stopped the growth of his lungs. This is a freak happening, nothing we could have done differently. They weren't able to spend much time analyzing though because the priority was to shut down the labor. We will know more about his condition today. Even if I made it to full term, his odds of survival are very low. Much lower if he comes sooner. They are not giving us much hope at all.

If he makes it through the delivery, they will try to stabilize him and send him to eggleston in an ambulance. There they will perform emergency surgery to try to save him.

I'm trying to think one step at a time, one battle at a time and be brave for Mason.

My goal is to stay here as fight for him as long as possible, whatever the cost. My water could break in the next hour or in weeks- the not knowing is really scary. The doctors know my wishes. Best case scenario I am here for the next 6 weeks+ and I can give him the best chance possible.

Michael has been my rock - and has been absolutely amazing, refusing to leave our side. So have both of our families. We are so blessed to have so much love and support from you all.

No matter the outcome- this has had been the greatest trial of our lives. Nothing will ever be the same. Mason had two really good options: come home with us or get to be with God. Selfishly we want him here, but we know God is in control. If He saves him, we will show the world His glory: if he takes him, we know God added another perfect angel and we will see him soon. We want one thing: Thy will be done.

Thanks again for your prayers and thoughts- we need every single one.

I do believe in miracles and will never given up on him. #miraclemason
